When the weather grows cold, there’s nothing like a piping hot bowl of chili to warm you up from the inside.

However, while chili is the quintessential winter meal, it’s often quite heavy and greasy when made with ground beef. Sure, it’ll fill you up, but then you’ll feel overly full and bloated later.

Instead of weighing yourself down when the temperature outside drops, you should instead reach for this hearty vegetarian chili.

Drink THIS Before Bed… Wake Up Feeling MUCH Less Pain

It’s packed to the brim with beans and vegetables, and has a spicy kick from cayenne pepper, giving you a rich meal that you can feel good about eating.

Even better, it’s so good for you, you won’t even mind adding a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of cheese, and a couple of slices of avocado to it!

The Health Benefits Of Vegetarian Chili

This warm and hearty chili recipe is more than cozy and filling on a chilly night… it’s also packed with health benefits!

For example, did you know that chili peppers—and therefore chili powder—contain several important vitamins, nutrients, and minerals? These include vitamin C, B6, K1, and A… as well as copper and potassium.

Chili peppers are also quite well known for containing capsaicin. This is what gives them their spicy flavor.

However, capsaicin does more than give your mouth that burning-hot feeling. This plant compound also has metabolism-boosting properties, can reduce hunger, may lower your blood pressure, can reduce your risk of cancer, may prevent stomach ulcers, and could even relieve pain.

And those are the benefits of just chili powder! Since cayenne is a pepper as well, it holds many of the same benefits, particularly those of capsaicin.

The rest of the ingredients in this vegetarian chili also hold serious health benefits. Tomatoes, for instance, contain the antioxidant lycopene. Cumin can help treat diabetes, promote digestion, improve blood cholesterol, and fight inflammation.

And that avocado you use to top your bowl of chili? You probably know by now that avocados have some amazing health benefits!

Avocados are full of nutrients and vitamins, including fiber, folate, potassium, and vitamins E, C, K, B5, and B6. They are also a great source of heart-healthy fats that can reduce inflammation and lower your risk of cancer.
