Easy & Flavorful Peanut Butter Lo Mein Noodles Recipe
What’s the number one dish you think of when you think about peanut butter?
If you’re like most Americans… a peanut butter and jelly sandwich might be the first thing to come to your mind!
However, you may be surprised to learn that there’s more to peanut butter than just the classic PB&J sandwich. Sure, sandwiches are yummy and all, but they’re not exactly dinner food.BRAND NEW: These 7 Delicious Desserts Can Help You Burn Fat & Lose Weight
(I know I always find myself hungry again in a couple of hours when I eat a PB&J sandwich… and it isn’t exactly my goal to NEED a late-night snack every night!)
And if you’ve got a hungry family to feed—or you’re just looking for an easy, vegetarian-friendly meal for yourself—then you don’t want to sleep on peanut butter.
This lo mein noodles recipe combines whole wheat angel hair pasta with creamy peanut butter for a meal that’s high in protein and uses ingredients hidden away in your pantry. It also includes a serving of carrots for some extra nutrients, too.
One thing I love about this lo mein recipe is the use of angel hair pasta. I know that “traditional” lo mein dishes use Chinese egg noodles… but honestly, I pretty much never have those just sitting around in my pantry!BRAND-NEW: Research Shows These 3 Sugar Substitutes Are Best For Burning Fat (Plus 2 You Should NEVER Eat)
So when I want some classic lo mein… but I don’t want to go to the store right then… this recipe is perfect. Plus, if you have whole wheat angel hair… you get a serving of healthy whole grains!

The Surprising (And Delicious!) Ingredient In This Recipe That Supercharges Your Fat Burn…
I’ll readily admit that the first thing that drew me to this recipe was the crave-worthy flavor.
I mean, what can beat that perfect combination of peanut butter, soy sauce, and spices? Drool…
Plus, you can make it even healthier by replacing the brown sugar with a healthy sugar substitute like Swerve’s brown sugar. (No calories and all the sweetness? Yes please!)
But this recipe also has a lot going for it when it comes to healthy eating. (And it’s WAY better tasting than some other “classically healthy” dishes… like raw kale with a side of celery… ugh.)
There’s the whole wheat angel pasta for that indulgent texture… the refreshing carrots… and the irresistible spices.
But the real star of the show is the peanut butter.
Did you know that in addition to being totally delicious (whether in this recipe or by itself on a spoon)… peanut butter is also full of protein?
Just 2 tablespoons of peanut butter contains 8 grams of protein…
And those chopped peanuts you top this lo mein with? That small ¼ cup holds over 9 MORE grams of protein!
Now, when I did some research into the benefits of protein & why it’s so important to get enough of it in your diet… I was shocked to find out that not only is protein essential for building & repairing muscle and tissue…
In fact, one study found that when people increased their protein intake just a little bit (only a 15-30% daily increase)… they burned an average of 441 MORE calories the next day!
You know me… I love weight loss tips that involve me eating more delicious food…
