Mmm, theres nothing like a creamy dish of chicken alfredo. This pasta dish is the epitome of comfort food, especially when paired with a glass of chilled white wine.

Sadly, because its filled with carbohydrate-laden and heavily processed wheat noodles and heavy cream its also on that every once in a while menu rotation. (Even though I would honestly prefer to eat it every night!)

If you try to enjoy it too often, you may start to feel your pants getting unpleasantly tighter. And while I LOVE chicken alfredo I dont exactly want to sacrifice my waistline just for some delicious, creamy flavor. Its a hard choice to make!

Enter: this amazing, lightened-up chicken alfredo recipe (that doesnt TASTE lightened-up).

It uses real parmesan cheese and zucchini noodles (zoodles) to sneak in a serving of vegetables while also making it healthy enough that you can enjoy it every week. (Or if youre like me, maybe every night for a week.)

And if you serve it with a small glass of wine, youll get no judgement from me!

So, lets get started with this creamy, delicious alfredo recipe that tastes indulgent but will inspire zero guilt:

FTHs Creamy Chicken Zoodle Alfredo

(Low-Carb, Low GI)

(Serves 4)


  • 2 chicken breasts, cubed (12-14 oz)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • tsp salt
  • tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 Tbsp Neufchatel cheese
  • cup real parmesan cheese
  • 16 oz zucchini, spiralized

1) In a skillet, heat up olive oil. Add chicken breasts and garlic, and cook until chicken is no longer pink in the middle and is golden on the outside. Set aside.

2) In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of flour, skim milk, and chicken broth. Cook until thick and creamy, then add Neufchatel and salt and pepper.

3) Heat up another skillet and add zoodles. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until slightly softened. Remove from heat immediately.

4) Combine parmesan cheese and chicken to alfredo sauce mixture. Add zucchini and serve right away.

Im not one of those people who can live off kale. I like things that actually taste good.

This recipe is one of the most comforting, indulgent ones I have. It brings in all the creamy, warming goodness of alfredo recipes, while still managing to be shockingly healthy.

Finally, you can have a chicken alfredo dish that isnt just for cheat days!

The secret is in the zoodles. I was skeptical at first, but once I tried it, I didnt even miss the pasta. It was heavenly!

However, I didnt want to cut out ALL of the ingredients that make a classic chicken alfredo.

And it really isnt necessary to swap out all of the normal ingredients either especially when some of them are pretty dang healthy already.

Take the parmesan, for example. It gives your alfredo sauce that classic cheesy flavor but did you know that it can also help your body increase your metabolism?
